The pioneer days of treasure mining in the Region were defined by a distinctive method known as sluicing. Originating from the demand to extract valuable minerals from the heavily laden riverbeds, sluicing emerged as a common practice. Astute miners would construct elaborate sluice boxes, carefully guiding the river water to wash away the extran
